Title: Other supports

Narrator: Tip number 8, other supports. Besides your family, there are other supports available. For example, experienced nursing mothers and healthcare professionals may help you to achieve successful breastfeeding. Both you and your partner can join the antenatal talk or breastfeeding workshop. After birth, you can share your breastfeeding experiences with other nursing mothers in postnatal support groups. To strengthen your confidence, talk to friends or relatives with breastfeeding experience. You may have other concerns, for example, what should or shouldn't you eat during breastfeeding, how to store breastmilk and breastfeed your baby after returning to work, etc. You can refer to the relevant leaflets and video produced by the Department of Health. When you are admitted for labour, remember to bring the mentioned booklets. If you have any breastfeeding problems, seek help from healthcare professionals as soon as possible. Healthcare professionals at the hospital and Maternal and Child Health Centres always have your back. If you have any concerns on breastfeeding, consult your paediatrician or obstetrician while midwife or nurse specialist in breastfeeding can provide you with skill support. If you still have difficulties in breastfeeding after discharge, visit the Maternal and Child Health Centre as soon as possible or consult your family doctor. The following is a list of breastfeeding hotlines which is helpful for you: The Breastfeeding hotline of Department of Health 3618 7450; Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Hong Kong Association 2838 7727; Hong Kong Breastfeeding Mothers' Association 2540 3282. For mothers who delivered at hospitals under the Hospital Authority, you can also contact the breastfeeding hotline of the individual hospital. To sum up this video, breastfeeding mothers, Debby and Ivy have a few words to share with you…

Debby: Nothing can beat breastmilk. Breastfeeding is the natural way to feed babies. Consider carefully your infant feeding choice beforehand.

Ivy: My baby gives me the greatest motive. I want to give him the best. He is my first baby and I want him to grow up healthily, be happy and smart, right?
